Samsung Ativ Book 9 Lite

MyJozi recently got to play with the Samsung Ativ Book 9 Lite for a few weeks… What a cool little toy! Well it is far from a toy but in this day and age, Laptops are toys.

I happened to be going on holiday when I got the laptop, so it was convenient to take with due to its compact size. It may be small, but it has a decent operating speed.

Let’s start with the specs…

Operating System Windows 8 (64-bit)
Processor AMD Quad-Core Processor Optimized for Samsung
Display 13.3″ LED HD (1366 x 768)
System Memory 4GB
Storage 128GB
Graphics AMD Radeon™ Graphics

If you are a tech junkie or know a little about computers, you will know what that means.

But I am going to tell you in my words what I thought of the funky little laptop.

My first thought was wow… small, but not tiny, compact and lite! Then I turned it on and I was pleasantly surprised with its speed!

I use a laptop for basic things such as word processors, spread sheets and then surfing of course. The Ativ Book 9 Lite ran everything that I need with absolutely no lag. You switch it on and it boots up in a matter of seconds and it just seems to be ready for you every time you want to work on it.

I would not recommend it to someone who is looking for a high performance laptop to run high resource applications or hectic games. It is the perfect machine to have around for students or even parents who want to do some work for research at home.

I am not saying that it is not suited for the work place. It most definitely is. But again, only if the applications you use are not mega resource drainers.

Overall I loved the Ativ Book 9 Lite and will miss it dearly now that it has gone back to Samsung… I was hoping that they would forget that they sent it to me in the first place.
