Spring started off on such a cold, rainy and uncertain note; but that did not Stop the elegant, sophisticated and voguish Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel from enriching the evening with its vivacious hospitality and radiant view that look out on to the streets of Sandton, Johannesburg. The night surely warmed up as soon as we arrived; with drinks on arrival and a period of networking as we waited for the course of events to commence. We were welcomed by Nicky Arthur from Nicky Arthur PR and immediately introduced to Isabella from Franschhoek Cellar who took us through a probable journey through Franschhoek Cellar in Franschoek Valley by making use of our imagination.
As the night went on, the story behind Franschhoek wines unfolded. Franschhoek Vineyards Ltd originated in 1945 by a group of local farmers to vinify their grapes on a co-operative basis. They no longer operate under a co-op image but rather as a private winery within the premium wine stable of DGB (Pty) Ltd.
The hotels very own executive chef Stuart Cason was to prepare the culinary delights but unfortunately could not make it. Therefore, chef Joseph took charge and introduced us to the decadent delights that match perfectly with the wine.
Overall, the food was great, the wine phenomenal, the company superb and the view breathtaking. So, weather you going on a date, having a meeting, needing accommodation etc, Radisson Blu is for you!
