Wikipedia blacks out their English website for 24 hour! Why?

Starting at 05:00 UTC, 18 January 2012 Wikipedia turned off access to the world in protest to the proposed legislation of the “Stop Piracy Act (SOPA) in the United States. Wikipedia says that if the act were passed, it would seriously damage the free and open internet, including Wikipedia.

Other large websites such as Google and Reddit will also set a protest the controversial bill in same way or another.

So what is SOPA?

There are two bills in play, 1: The Stop Online Piracy Act, known as SOPA, in the House and 2: sister legislation called the Protect IP Act, or PIPA, in the Senate. Both are designed to tackle the problem of foreign-based websites that sell pirated movies, music and other products.

Wireless Internet Connections Dropping in Windows 7

Dale : 27/04/2011 8:32 pm : Technology

I recently upgraded my laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7. I was very frustrated when my WiFi (wireless internet) connection kept on dropping. I did a lot of research and read various forums and discussions about this issue and found various tips and suggestions but none of them helped.

Suggestions i got included turning off saver saver options, adjusting various security options and downloading the latest drivers.

I eventually solved my wireless internet issue with a new driver but not in the way that you may think.

If you have the same wireless internet issue, then try this:

  1. Run Windows 7 update
  2. Go to you control panel and select “System and Security”
  3. Under the systems icon, select “Device Manager”
  4. Find your wireless device that should be found under “Network Devices”
  5. Right click on your wireless device and select “Properties”
  6. Select the “Driver” tab and click on “Disable”
  7. Click “Ok” this will cut off your internet and disable your network connection
  8. Reboot your machine and allow your machine to reinstall your wireless device

This solved my issues…. and i hope it will help you solve yours.

Please give us feedback below if this helped you… or not.
