Johannesburg e-tag Registration

There is a lot of uncertainty at the moment around the Johannesburg tolling systems. The current tolling system plans are available at an older My Jozi article (Click here to view). Following this article a number of readers wanted to know where they get the e-Tag from. I did some research and this is what i found…

From what i can gather, Sanral is offering two ways to register for e-Toll system:

  • Customer Service Centers

There are located real Rigel Ave, Modderfontein Road, Rivonia Road and Grey Ave and will be operational from 6am to 10pm.

  • Customer Services Kiosks at Malls

There will be various service kiosks at selected malls that will operate during normal mall operating hours. Below is a list of the malls that will have a Customer Services Kiosk:

Atterbury Value Mart Centurion Mall
Carlton Centre The Glen
Northpark Mall Cresta Mall
Moreleta Plaza Shopping Plaza Bonaero Centre
Meadowdale Mall Alberton City
Boulders Shopping Centre Cedar Square
Kempton Square Irene Village Mall
Rosettenville Junxion Jakaranda Shopping Centre
Mall @ Reds Kolonnade
Wonderpark Shopping Centre Maponya Mall
Sunward Park Menlyn Park Shopping Centre
Mahube Maxcity Eersterus Plaza Shopping Centre

I can not find confirmation is registration is already open or how much the e-Tag will cost. But i do know the cost of the tag will be credited to your e-Tolling account.

I see we can apply at Malls…..
Randridge Mall is on the list.
Where at the Mall can I register ?

  3. Eric says:

I asked asked the personnel in the service kiosk at Sunninghill Village Mall (has been there a few weeks already) what they are doing.
    ‘Waiting’, was the answer.
‘When will this new toll system start?’ I asked.
‘Don’t know, we haven’t been told.’
So three persons sit in this kiosk day in and day out for weeks on end, doing nothing. They have nothing to sell, nothing to tell, and you have to bend over double to hear what they say as they are behind a glass panel with a small opening at counter height.

  4. Reader says:

That’s not the only bending you’ll be doing…
